Principal’s Message

Wonderful Firestone Families,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! If you are new to our Falcon Family, we are so excited to have you join our community! For our wonderful, returning families, welcome back! At Firestone, we are committed to operating within an antiracist framework and ensuring that our school is a place that is both safe and welcoming to students and families. Through flexibility and innovation, we work each day to ensure that this is lived and breathed at Firestone. Social-emotional learning is embedded into our curriculum, as we continue to support our students in the healing needed after the pain and uncertainty of a global pandemic. Now more than ever, we see our families as partners in our students’ success. We are all in this together, as one team—parents, students, families, staff members, and the community at large. It is important to also remember that school is not meant to be a place of stagnation but rather a place of growth and change. As we look to the future, we want to ensure that our students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to bring about true change in our world. We must be ready to have uncomfortable conversations, especially as we focus on building a culture of antiracism; this lens is central to our students’ ability to leave Aspire Firestone Academy as critical thinkers and to give power to their voices. Please know that my door is always open and that your feedback is always welcome!

With appreciation,

 Marnie Kislinger, Principal
